Cross-country skiing

Across the snow at a leisurely pace

For those who prefer to take things a little more easily or who simply wish to enjoy the peace and quiet, we recommend the high altitude cross-country trail in Hochkrimml (7 km).
The highest trail (circular route) is to be found at 1,640 m in the 'Hohe Tauern' National Park. The starting point is either at the Gerlosplatte Youth Hostel (Silberleiten) or opposite the Krimml ski school (Filzsteinalpe).

With over 100 kilometres, the "Pinzga Trail" provides limitless cross-country enjoyment. You join it directly beside the world famous Krimml waterfalls. Here too, a ski instructor can of course give you valuable tips.

Horse-drawn sleigh ride

What could be more beautiful than to ride across the snowy winter landscape in a horse-drawn sleigh and to chat about what you’ve seen over a cosy cup of tea.

Two horse farmers make this dream a reality in Wald im Pinzgau (approx. 15 minutes away by car):

Torch-lit walks

Almost everyone knows the Krimml waterfalls. But not many people know that they are just as spectacular in winter as in summer. And especially at night, it offers an extraordinary experience. Every Wednesday, a torch-lit walk leads from Krimml to the waterfalls.

The meeting point is at the pavilion grounds in Krimml at 8:30 pm. Together you can walk with torches to the falls.
