Hiking and climbing

Up hill and down dale

Whether you like it leisurely and quiet or more out there and full of action... we are sure to find something to suit you.

A leisurely walk to the Gletscherblickalm taking around 1 - 1 1/2 hours from Hochkrimml, is ideal for young and old alike. The local landlords are sure to tell you more about the art of cheesemaking — and you simply have to sample the fare!

If you’re more of a thrill-seeker, you can walk from Hochkrimml to Trisslam via the Leitenkammersteig path, and from there on to the Zittau mountain hut — taking around 3 hours.

We will be happy to help you plan your trip.

Our TIP for you!

By bike to the Krimmler Achental — one of the most beautiful national park valleys!

Your bike tour takes you from Krimml along part of the Gerlos Alpine Road until the “Krimmler Tauernweg” turn-off. You’ll need all your strength for the ride as you will have to overcome the cascades of the Krimml waterfalls. After you have managed the climb, the Krimmler Achental valley awaits you, a genuine jewel of nature, surrounded by an impressive mountain panorama, a world full of meadows and luscious pastures. Arriving at the head of the valley, you will experience the world of the glaciers, the Krimmler Kees.

Mountain inns and meadows along the way tempt you to interrupt your journey.

We will be happy to advise you on further bike trips.

On with your trunks and off into the water

The 500 m² heated swimming pool with a separate children’s paddling pool and a large sunbathing area is located directly in the centre of Krimml.

Open: from June to the beginning of September (depending on the weather)

If you prefer things somewhat cooler, you can take a refreshing dip in the Durlaßboden reservoir — lonely bays await you only 15 minutes’ drive away from us.

Do you fancy a trip on the lake? "Kalle´s Boat Hire" at the jetty is available for you with rowing boats, sailing boats and pedalos!

Klettern & Klettersteige - Hochseilgarten
